The story takes place in the small town of Slutton (slew-ton), where infomercial king Dr. Jacob Pendelton has created a new product called ShamPube, but unfortunately for the town someone is out to destroy Pendelton and has tainted his new product, turning the town into sexually charged humping zombies.
While the town’s people are getting devoured by this outbreak, four friends Brian, Rick, Marvin and Derik (who are completely oblivious to the world around them) plan on filming a short skit for an upcoming competition. In the middle of filming their world gets turned upside down when Pendelton shows up and needs the crew’s help to stop the humping zombies from taking over the world.
The crew armed with top-secret weapons is out on a mission to find the cure and destroy any zombie that gets in their path. On their adventure they are confronted with an unusual cast of characters Texas Jim (a used car salesmen) and Fluffy(a half-man half-cat) and lots of splooge. Can the crew save the town from the disgusting humping zombies or will they all wake up from this hellish nightmare, with MOURNING WOOD!

Fat Foot Films held the Mourning Wood Premiere at The Elm Draughthouse in Millbury, MA on October 23, 2010. Nearly 250 people came out in support of the film.
Over the past several years, we have been building “Mourning Wood” from the ground up. With a shoestring budget and a lack of experience, we've created the film piecing together everything from parts to old plumbing supplies. Having absolutely no clue on how to create a film over five minutes, we dove in thinking it wouldn't take us any longer than a year. Four years in, and we've just recently ended filming and begun post production.
After finishing up with our local access show, “Sutton’s Top Dogs,” we wanted to finally create a full length feature; something we've talked about for years. Ryan Convery and Ed Gutierrez had started brain storming on an original horror idea that included a twist to the normal zombie genre. Instead of these zombies looking for brains, they were looking to “hump.” Original titles included “Crotch Rot,” “Humping Zombies That Just Can't Reach From Hell”, “Hump Day” and “Welcome to Slutton.” Once the script was finalized, Fat Foot Films was created and our headquarters was formed in an old basement in Webster, MA.
During preproduction, any and everything we could get our hands on was cut, shaped, glued, and duct taped together to create our props. Stunt dummies were built out of duct tape, latex heads from local hair saloons were collected and blown up, dolly tracks were made from old roller blades, monster suits were created from old clothes, and finally, guns were made from broken electronic parts, pipes, and vacuums. We worked on preproduction every Sunday for almost a year. Finally, after all our work, we were ready to film; however, there was one major setback, no one knew how to act! As a result, we had many hours of unusable footage that will hopefully never see the light of day.
After more and more takes, we started to feel comfortable in front of the camera. We were finally beginning to move along; fifteen takes became five and six, a sign of progress, or so we thought. As we found, since no one was ever paid, there were more and more set backs due to scheduling conflicts, holidays, and people being over sensitive. But, just like the nonbelievers who told us to give up, we overcame those obstacles.
And so, after four long years of production problems, unreliable props, and no money, we are happy to announce the release of “Mourning Wood” on October 23 2010!
